Performer Denies Anti-Vax Views Following Voicing Contentious Covid Feature
Liam Neeson has provided his narration to a new documentary that casts doubt on the safety of immunizations and commends ex- government figure RFK Jr.
The Film's Provocative Origins
Called "Plague of Corruption," the project is adapted from a popular book written by a controversial scientist, who rose to infamy during the health crisis for assertions that Covid was caused by a faulty batch of the influenza shot.
The book's writing partner, a producer, has penned books with controversial figure Alex Jones. Heckenlively recently posted hailing Neeson's role in the documentary.
An Unequivocal Rebuttal
A spokesperson for Liam Neeson have issued a comment strongly denying suggestions that he holds anti-vax sentiments.
"Everyone can recognize that corruption may occur within the medical sector, but that must not be confused with opposition to vaccines," the response reads. "He has never been, and is not, against vaccines. His long work with the UN children's agency underscores his consistent support for public-health initiatives."
The statement added that the performer was not involved in crafting the documentary's editorial content and that concerns about its content are best addressed to the filmmakers.
Key Assertions Featured in the Film
In the film, the voiceover provided by Neeson makes several provocative points:
- It states that pro-vaccine voices have insisted on "blind obedience" to health authorities.
- It argues that "research has become highly politicized."
- RFK Jr is shown claiming, "The major issue with vaccines is that they simply are not safely tested."
- It takes aim at stay-at-home orders, claiming they caused mental anguish that resulted in thousands of lives.
- On the topic of the immunizations, it mentions a view that they were "developed too quickly" and seen as "hazardous tests."
Previous Background and Ongoing Debates
The documentary also references a past television report about HIV drug testing on children, which was subsequently the topic of a formal apology by the network for unbalanced reporting.
In recent weeks, Kennedy instructed the CDC to change its long-held position that there is no link between immunizations and autism spectrum disorder. This assertion is echoed in the documentary, even with a new report from the WHO stating no such link has been found.
A Previous Statement of Endorsement
Contrasting the film's message, Neeson has formerly voiced strong support for vaccines in his capacity as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.
Two years ago, he called vaccines as "an extraordinary achievement," adding that "The discourse about vaccines in recent years has overlooked how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in human history."
The film finishes with Neeson's narration stating, "This marks not the conclusion of our journey. It is the dawn of a fresh chapter."
