FC Barcelona Set to Play Historic Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou on Saturday

Barça revealed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. The club will host the Basque side in domestic competition two and a half years since relocating for construction to commence.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators can be present based on approved permits. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced finished work included an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held an open training session at the Camp Nou on 7 November. The club said approval is being pursued by UEFA to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side on 9 December in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
