Expedition 33 Sweeps at the 2025 Gaming Honors
The 43rd annual Golden Joystick Awards were hosted recently, and in a stunning performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the top winner. This standout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive earned the esteemed Game of the Year award, along with accolades for Outstanding Narrative and Excellence in Visuals.
Complementing the studio's success, its talented cast also received personal awards. Jennifer English was named Outstanding Lead Performance for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr took home Best Supporting Actor for his acting as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive itself was named Studio of the Year. Altogether, Clair Obscur and its developers achieved 7 awards during the show.
Other notable winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Outstanding Audio and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Top Self-Published Indie and Best PC Game. It is important to note, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the public, with only 4 special—Critics’ Choice, Breakthrough, Hall of Fame, and Streamers’ Choice—decided by experts.
