Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople announced on Wednesday night. The fighter was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on Monday, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.

Healing from Light Wounds

The sports star had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his promoter had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” Omotosho said.

Honoring the Deceased

The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the passing of his two close friends.”

His release from the hospital comes as the boxing community shared sympathy for the fighter in the wake of the devastating accident.
